Chattanooga Christian School High School is gearing up to present
Mary Poppins to the Chattanooga community, with opening night set for Thursday, March 20. The cast and crew, made up of more than 115 students, have been working tirelessly since December to bring this beloved show to life.
This show promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring an exciting blend of dancing, tap, and flying! It’s a must-see, can't-miss performance that is sure to leave you amazed.
Mary Poppins will be the second production staged in the newly renovated
Fine Arts Center. The lead role of
Mary Poppins will be played by junior RC Moore, while sophomore Lincoln Caney will take on the role of Bert. Production manager and alumnus Heath Austin says, “The kids have been working hard. It’s going to be a great show. We're all really excited for opening night!” Austin, who portrayed Bert in the 2015 CCS production of
Mary Poppins, has been working diligently with his media crew to ensure the lighting and sound are ready for opening night.
Mary Poppins is a magical musical that tells the story of a whimsical nanny who transforms the lives of the Banks family in London. With her enchanting ways, she helps children Jane and Michael learn valuable life lessons while bringing fun and adventure into their lives. Alongside her cheerful friend Bert, a chimney sweep, Mary Poppins teaches the family important lessons about kindness, imagination, and the importance of family. Ultimately, her influence brings positive change, leaving the family with a renewed sense of love and unity before disappearing as mysteriously as she arrived.
The
CCS Theatre production of
Mary Poppins will run March 20-22 and March 27-29.
Tickets are on sale now. We can’t wait for you to see the show!
