CCS Hosts the "Bolt Up Chattanooga Showdown” VEX Robotics Tournament

Chattanooga Christian School (CCS) will host the Bolt Up Chattanooga Showdown, a VEX Robotics High School and Middle School Tournament, on Jan. 17-18, 2025, in the school’s Fine Arts Center. The event will feature 60 teams from 15 schools across Tennessee, competing in a series of challenging robotics tasks that will test their engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. The competition begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The tournament will include both high school and middle school teams, with schools throughout Tennessee coming together to showcase their talent and innovation. Participants will compete with custom-built robots designed to complete specific challenges in this year’s VEX V5 Robotics Competition High Stakes, all while vying for top spots and the chance to qualify for future regional and national robotics competitions. The winner of this competition will go on to compete at the state championship in March.

“We’re incredibly excited to host the Bolt Up Chattanooga Showdown at Chattanooga Christian School,” said Matt Monahan, head robotics coach at CCS. “The VEX Robotics competitions provide students with a hands-on learning experience that fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. The passion and skill displayed by these students are truly impressive, and we can’t wait to see them compete. This event is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the growing STEM talent in Tennessee.”

The Bolt Up Chattanooga Showdown will bring together some of the brightest young minds from across the state, offering a platform for students to engage with their peers, learn from one another, and push the limits of what their robots can accomplish. The tournament will also provide valuable exposure for the next generation of engineers and innovators. For more information, visit www.robotevents.com
