Cheerleaders play an integral part in creating a lively, competitive atmosphere at football and basketball games. In addition, our cheer team competes each year at UCA summer camp and the TSSAA state competition and has brought back some hardware since adding a competition team. Our experienced high school coaching staff teaches our athletes tumbling, jumping, cheering, and dancing. We have a competition squad and a spirit squad.
Samantha Mansell is loaded with experience that complements our gifted competition and spirit cheer programs at CCS. She competed as a cheerleader at Tennessee Tech University (NCAA DI) where she earned her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. She served as their team captain and helped TTU earn their first-ever qualification for UCA finals.
Following her success at TTU, she continued her education and cheer career at North Carolina State University (NCAA DI). While earning her master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, she was also NC State’s team leader helping her team to the NCA National Championship. Coach Mansell’s leadership experience, which is highlighted below, continued to grow during and after her time at NC State.
